      <image:title>Our Mission - Prioritizing people.</image:title>
<image:caption>The National Lawyers Guild Arkansas Chapter ("NLGAR") is a membership organization of lawyers, law students, legal workers, jailhouse lawyers, and legal observers dedicated to addressing the inequities in our political, economic, and judicial systems. We recognize that the rule of law is often neglected under varying political and economic conditions. We believe the legal community must advocate for the rule of law and the protection of civil rights for the historically disenfranchised and other politically and economically vulnerable members of our society, and that we must strive to address systemic deficiencies and reform the law accordingly. This challenge begins at the grassroots level and requires statewide organization. In 2020, we are proud to create the first Arkansas chapter of the first bar association in the nation to accept minorities. We have organized to: 1. Promote justice in the administration of the law and support individuals who reflect this Chapter’s mission; 2. Protect and foster democratic institutions; 3. Maintain and protect the human and civil rights and liberties of all people; and 4. Alleviate, to the greatest extent possible, the economic and social oppression of workers, women, LGBTQ people, farmers, people with disabilities and people of color, upon whom the welfare of the entire nation depends.</image:caption>
